Guardian Australia has announced the promotion of Justin Easter to state sales director NSW & QLD, and Delwyn Smith to state sales director VIC & SA.
These promotions are “the latest step in managing director Rebecca Costello’s realignment of the commercial business”, according to the publication. They will both report to Shannon Hollis, head of advertising.
Easter has more than a decade of experience in the industry, and has worked for Guardian Australia for nine years starting as an account coordinator, while Smith has “extensive experience in media and sales” and previously worked for Fairfax Media. She has been with Guardian Australia for three years.
Additionally, Sarah (Jiajia) Xu has been named head of ad operations and platforms, Alison Tanudisastro has been appointed to the newly created position head of production, and Sharnee Rawson returns from parental leave to resume her role as head of commercial content.
“Guardian Australia is heading into 2025 with a talented commercial team ready to capture the opportunities in front of us,” said managing director Rebecca Costello.
“Justin has been successful in helping brands grow by leveraging the Guardian’s trusted and innovative advertising solutions, while Delwyn’s ability to open up business opportunities in a competitive market is invaluable.
“I am also excited to be working with the next generation of commercial team leaders with Alison, Sarah and Sharnee bringing a fresh outlook and innovative approach to delivering exemplary advertising campaigns for clients.”
