The Guardian’s Australian operation has confirmed it has move PR agencies from Weber Shandwick to Text100.

The announcement:

“Text100 Australia is pleased to announce it has been appointed as Guardian Australia’s integrated communications agency following a competitive pitch process in September. We will work closely with Guardian Australia’s Editor-in-Chief Katharine Viner, and Managing Director Ian McClelland to continue to support Guardian Australia’s commitment to independence, editorial integrity, and digital and journalistic innovation. We believe the two organisations share a common set of values with regard to digital and public communications, including the critical need to engage with audience communities through open, relevant and transparent dialogue. As part of the agreement, Text100 will help Guardian Australia to build on the Guardian’s reputation as one of the world’s most trusted and respected global media brands” – Simon Fitzgerald, Senior Account Director, Text100 Australia.

“Guardian Australia can confirm it has selected Text100 Australia as its integrated communications agency of choice. Text100 was selected based on its demonstrated strengths in online marketing and communications, its digital and creative offerings, and its knowledge and understanding of the importance of engaging audiences and industry stakeholders. We look forward to working with Text100 as our communications partner as we continue to listen to and engage with our readers and partners in Australia.” – Ian McClelland, Managing Director, Guardian Australia.
