Gymnast Emma Nedov stars in Running Bare’s International Womens Day inspired ad

Activewear brand Running Bare has recruited Australian gymnast Emma Nedov to star in its ‘This One’s For Me’ campaign.

Directed by Playtime’s Suzanne Kim, the ad features Nedov as she portrays what it is like for her during training in an attempted to convey “the importance of physical mindfulness and self-belief”.

Kim said in a statement: “I wanted a strong character that embodied empowerment and to capture her exactly how she is: an active protagonist with her own story and song. Celebrating the complexity of femininity, she is unapologetic and doesn’t need anyone’s permission in her athletic pursuit.”

The brand also decided not to use a traditional soundtrack and instead made a soundscape.

Yolanda Powell, design director at Running Bare, added: “The Running Bare woman approaches her life with a sense of optimism and dynamism and we endeavour to harness that energy in everything that we do.

“This is why we work with Suzanne. It is rare for me to hand over creative licence to anyone when it comes to Running Bare, but Suzanne always nails the brief and her delivery far surpasses our expectations. Working with Suzanne is always a pleasure. She really understands how to create a world where sport, femininity and pure presence all run together.”
