Hamish and Andy’s Perfect Holiday premieres to 881,000 metro viewers

Hamish Blake and Andy Lee are back, this time with their ‘Perfect Holiday’, and it appears audiences are still keen on the duo with 881,000 metro viewers tuning in for the first episode. The show takes part in three 90 minute episodes, with the first taking the boys to Washington, Las Vegas, Texas and Alaska.

A total of 1.21m viewers tuned in for the show, making it the second most-watched of the evening behind Seven News with 905,000 metro and 1.38m national viewers.

Hamish and Andy’s Perfect Holiday also topped all three of the key advertising demographics – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s – followed by Nine’s 60 Minutes in all three.

Nine was also the most-watched channel with metro audiences 25-54 and 16-39 (28.9% share and 32.9% respectively).

It wasn’t just Hamish and Andy returning to television last night. Seven premiered the second season of Zumbo’s Just Desserts, after the first aired in 2016. Since then, Seven has signed a distribution deal with Netflix, which has given the show new life.

446,000 metro viewers tuned in for the first episode last night and 700,000 national. Back in 2016, the first episode of the first season premiered to 1.08m metro viewers. The series dropped as low as 657,000 viewers, before bowing out to 762,000.

Adriano Zumbo, the pastry chef whose business has been struggling in past years, presents the format with Rachel Khoo. Ten contestants battle through challenges to be named the winner of the show.

ABC’s drama Total Control wrapped up on Sunday to 536,000 metro and 811,000 national viewers. The six-part political drama stars Deborah Mailman and Rachel Griffiths. The final episode was the second most-watched entertainment program behind Hamish and Andy.

Pangolins: Narrated by David Attenborough brought 420,000 metro viewers to ABC, but ABC News was the most-watched on the network with 683,000. Nine News delivered 765,000 metro viewers and 1.04m nationally.

Ten’s most-watched programming was The Project at 7pm with 320,000 metro viewers.

Nine took the total people win for Sunday night, drawing 22.7% audience share as a channel and 33.0% as a network. Seven held 16.8% and 26.2%, ABC 11.8% and 16.9% and Ten slipped to 8.6% as a channel and 13.8% for the network. 9Go was the most-watched multi with 4.3% share.
