Hamish and Andy to depart on a ‘Perfect Holiday’ in new travel show for Nine

Comedy duo Hamish Blake and Andy Lee have wrapped filming on their seventh TV project for Nine. Perfect Holiday will see the pair surprise each other with ideas for their ‘perfect holiday’ and is set to air on Nine later this year.

The project is the third travel concept Blake and Lee have embarked on for Nine, including Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year and Caravan of Courage. Nine also aired True Story with Hamish and Andy in 2017 and 2018.

In a post to Instagram, Blake and Lee said they had finished three weeks of filming to create Perfect Holiday, surprising each other with ‘a new travel adventure each day’.

The duo moved to Nine in 2011, from previous home Ten. Lee is now one of the team leaders on Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation and Blake fronted Lego Masters earlier this year for the network.

True Story hasn’t been confirmed for a third season. The show pulled between 500,000 and 700,000 metro viewers for its second season last year. When announcing Perfect Holiday at its 2019 upfronts at the end of last year, Nine said it didn’t mean True Story would never return, but that it wouldn’t be back in 2019.

Blake and Lee have previously taken home a Logie for Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year.

Speaking earlier in the year to Kiis FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, Blake said that the duo would be splitting the travel plans for Perfect Holiday.

“It’ll still be us making each other eat weird things, pushing each other into swamps and stuff, but the format is like, we know the route we’re travelling but every alternating day I’ll plan a day for Andy and then the next day he plans the day.

“We plan the itinerary for the team. So I know what half the trip is…and then he knows the other half of the trip. So every alternating day it’s someone’s turn to figure out the schedule,” he said.

“There’s some genuine, great adventures that I think I’ve got us organised to go on, but it will be a lot of fun.”

Nine has not yet announced when Perfect Holiday will air.
