Hangout with Weekend Sunrise hosts Andrew O’Keefe and Monique Wright

Mumbrella hosted a live hangout with the hosts of Seven’s Weekend Sunrise Andrew O’Keefe and newly appointed co-host Monique Wright today, in which they discussed the demands of the job and how it differs from its weekday namesake.

Wright was appointed as O’Keefe’s permanent co-host at the end of last month, following the promotion of Samantha Armytage to host the weekday program with David Koch in the middle of last year.

She had regularly filled in on the show prior to that and has been with the Channel Seven since 1996. Wright was also part of the original reporting team for Sunday Night and continues as co-host of The Daily Edition.

O’Keefe took the helm of Weekend Sunrise in 2006 and is also the host of game show Deal or No Deal. Last year he took on the role of King Herod in the Australian tour of the Jesus Christ Superstar arena show, performing from the end of May until June when he had to relinquish the role due to an injury. He is also chairman of the White Ribbon Campaign.
