New start-up ‘co-working space’ Hatch Quarter opens at Melbourne’s Docklands

A new shared office environment designed to foster start-ups and provide peer networking opportunities called Hatch Quarter has opened at Melbourne’s Docklands precinct.

The announcement:

Hatch Quarter is a new coworking space in the heart of the Docklands and it’s the ideal workplace for startups looking to get serious. Founded by three local entrepreneurs Aiman Hamdouna, Moayad Hamdouna and Ophelie Mouton, this coworking space gets the balance between creativity and productivity just right.

“HQ is a place where ideas can hatch and grow,” said Aiman Hamdouna, co-founder of Hatch Quarter. “Everyone has goals they want to achieve and we wanted to build a collaborative yet professional environment to help people reach their full potential.”

Hatch Quarter officially opened its doors this week and an eclectic crowd turned up to celebrate the launch of this innovative space. A healthy mix of freelancers, small business owners, creative professionals and tech startups along to show their support and check out the newly renovated space.

Aside from a shared office space with rentable desks, Hatch Quarter offers comfortably furnished collaboration areas, two event spaces, a kitchen, two meeting rooms and outdoor advertising screen. Even though it’s a cosy space, it feels bright and open thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Etihad Stadium.

Designed by Hatch Quarter’s first member, Mo Works Creative Agency, the space features custom made wooden desks, indoor greenery and splashes of gold.

The opening gave a snapshot of the kind of innovation and collaboration that Hatch Quarter will foster. Prominent startups Scann3D, producer of 3D virtual reality tours, and Eyes Decide, developers of webcam eye tracking technology, were among the crowd offering guests test runs of their cutting edge products. New real estate startup Keydom also came along to discuss their new property management platform. With these kinds of ideas being born beside you, it’s difficult not to be inspired.

Now the doors have officially opened, Hatch Quarter will be accepting applications from anyone wishing to join their new community. Permanent, part-time and casual memberships are available as well as the option to rent a ‘hot desk’ for a day.
