Hattrick for Seven but Nine takes the night – now it’s down to Will Smith versus Kevin Costner
Although Seven had the top shows, Nine won the night in what is becoming a ratings week that may go to the wire.
Seven News, Today Tonight and Home and Away delivered Seven a hattrick of top shows for the evening. But Nine still came in with an audience share of 27.4%, just ahead of Seven’s 26.7%. According to the preliminiary OzTam data, Ten racked up 25%, the ABC took 16.1%, and SBS 4.7%.
So far Nine’s weekly audience share is 28.5%, only just ahead of Seven’s 28.2%. Ten trails at 22.6%.
The weekly winner could well be decided by two things.
First whether tonight’s audiences go for Kevin Costner’s boat-based drama The Guardian on Seven, or Nine’s rom-com Hitch with Will Smith.
And second whether tomorrow’s audiences go for Goldie Hawn’s boat-based comedy Overboard on Seven, or Nine’s rom-com 50 First dates with Adam Sandler.
