Have You Been Paying Attention? returns to Ten on 4 May

Ten’s panel comedy show Have You Been Paying Attention? will return for its eighth season on 4 May at 8.30pm.

Host Tom Gleisner and permanent contestants Sam Pang and Ed Kavalee will return for the new season of the program which has been a ratings hit for Ten over its eight-year run.

The show struggled in its earlier seasons, premiering to just 301,000 metro viewers in 2013 and bowing out to 235,000. Several scheduling changes and some formatting mixups later, season four premiered to 684,000 metro viewers and saw a peak of 860,000.

Season five premiered to 839,000 metro viewers and season six 808,000. Last year’s season seven had a premiere audience of 787,000 metro viewers and a finale of 870,000. The show peaked at 946,000 metro viewers.

In season eight, Gleisner, Pang and Kavalee will be joined by a rotating panel of comics to dissect 2020’s news headlines, including tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and the government’s response.

Have You Been Paying Attention? is produced by Working Dog Productions which was formed in 1993 by Gleisner alongside actors Santo Cilauro, Rob Sitch, Jane Kennedy and producer Michael Hirsh. The company has produced shows for Ten including Thank God You’re Here which also starred Gleisner.
