Haystac’s Tabitha Fairbairn joins Mango Sydney as MD
DDB Group Sydney has appointed Haystac Australia general manager Tabitha Fairbairn as managing director of Mango Sydney, seven months after the departure of former MD Fern Canning, Mumbrella can reveal.
Fairbairn joins Mango after nearly 10 years with Haystac where most recently she was the general manager of the agency nationally.
She said: “I’ve always admired Mango and DDB. They’re an inherently creative business full of a diverse range of talented and collaborative people, with a reputation for creating world-class work that delivers tangible results for its clients.
“Upon meeting Andrew Little, Nicole Taylor and Ben Welsh, I was immediately drawn to the talent, chemistry and vision of DDB Group. With Mango’s existing credentials and stand-out staff, the agency is set for a big year and I’m very pleased to be part of the team.”
At Haystac she was replaced by Jason Carnew, former Sydney general manager, who was promoted in November.
DDB Group Australia CEO Andrew Little said in a statement: “Tabitha is the perfect addition to our DDB Group leadership team. Her experience working within an integrated network environment, coupled with her significant experience, is an asset for Mango and the DDB Group.
“Tabitha’s proven ability in delivering creative and memorable campaigns aligns to the DDB Group vision and further bolsters the credentials and experience of our leadership team.”
Congrats Tab! Exciting times!

my understanding is that mango did not grow under fern’s leadership so this is an excellent choice to right the ship. There is massive opportunity at mango, perhaps more so than any other PR agency.
I’d be interested in hearing how things are going elsewhere in PR land..
