Health insurer NIB consolidates media, social and SEO with Ikon, ending five-year relationship with Atomic 212
Private health fund NIB has consolidated all its above-the-line media, digital and social media, and search engine marketing and optimisation, with Ikon Communications.
The news marks the end of NIB’s five-year relationship with Atomic 212, which previously undertook performance media for the brand.
NIB’s group executive Australian residents health insurance Rhod McKensey said the brand was looking forward to its continuing partnership with Ikon.
“Following our recent RFP for our above-the-line media, digital and social media, and search engine optimisation, NIB has selected Ikon Communications as a preferred partner,” McKensey said.
“We look forward to working with the team at Ikon Communications in an expanded capacity as we strive to drive the success and performance of NIB across the country. The strategic insight Ikon demonstrated through the review process set the benchmark, which was reinforced by a talented and passionate team.”
He also paid tribute to Atomic 212.
“We wish the team at Atomic 212 all the best into the future – they have been a great partner that has added a tremendous amount of value to our business over the past five years.”
Atomic 212 is currently without a CEO after Jason Dooris exited the business in February – two months after Mumbrella revealed he had made a series of misleading and exaggerated claims within entries for several different industry awards.
Not to worry, I’m sure Atomic will claim they won all of the business in their awards submissions this year….

But as they have programmed me to say
“When one Dooris closes, another Dooris opens.”

Don’t worry, they are still going to say they have 100% client retention rate & 92% staff retention rate. When no one in their media team has been there for over a year. Shocking.
