Hennessy announces recovery initiative for hospitality industry

Spirits brand Hennessy has announced a recovery initiative for the hospitality industry of Australia.

The announcement:

Hennessy, the world’s leading premium spirits brand by value, has today announced a recovery initiative for the hospitality industry of Australia, providing thousands of frontline on-premise staff impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, with support as a gesture for the individuals and communities that are critical to the hospitality industry.

Partnering directly with local businesses, Hennessy will provide immediate cash relief to struggling businesses nationally by purchasing vouchers from venues across Australia. These vouchers will be provided to frontline hospitality workers or event staff who have lost vital income due to venue closures and event cancellations across the country.

“The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been devastating for the hospitality industry. Even though we are now seeing venues re-open, albeit with restricted operational guidelines, the effects for many venues and individuals will unfortunately be long lasting” said Andrew McLaren, Managing Director, Moet Hennessy Australia & New Zealand.

McLaren continues, “The on-premise community has remarkable spirit and resilience and is never shy in coming together in support of others in a time of need. Now is the time where they need our support and we hope that this initiative can assist in aiding their recovery.”

Hospitality workers who have been impacted by reduced hours or loss of wage can register for a $50 meal voucher at a participating venue by visiting www.hennessyforhospo.com.au.

Thousands of vouchers, plus Hennessy product, and cash support has been made available to venues and impacted individuals as part of a wider industry support initiative, amassing close to $200,000 support from Hennessy in Australia.
