Herald Sun appoints The Advertiser’s Luke Sullivan as ad manager

The Herald Sun has appointed The Advertiser and Sunday Mail’s Luke Sullivan as advertising manager.   

The announcement:

July 14, 2011 –

HWT advertising sales director Fiona Mellor today announced the appointment of Luke Sullivan to the position of advertising manager, Herald Sun and Sunday Herald Sun.

Mr Sullivan, currently advertising manager of The Advertiser and Sunday Mail in Adelaide, will take up the position on Monday, August 8, and will report directly to Ms Mellor and HWT deputy advertising director Mark Simpson.

Ms Mellor said: “I am very pleased to have an accomplished advertising manager like Luke join the Herald Sun team as he brings great experience from both a NewsNet and masthead perspective.”

Mr Sullivan has worked in media sales for 13 years. He initially spent two years in Melbourne before moving to Sydney and commencing with News Limited (NewsNet) in 2002.

In 2004 he worked for The Times in London as part of the News Corporation exchange program, returning to NewsNet in Sydney as group sales manager.

He joined The Advertiser and Sunday Mail as business development manager in 2008 and the following year commenced as advertising manager while also completing the News Limited Leadership Development Program.

“Adelaide and ANPL has been an invaluable and enjoyable experience for me,” Mr Sullivan said.

“I am privileged to have worked with and learnt from an outstanding management and sales team. It’s great to be returning home to Melbourne after 11 years.”

He said the chance to work on two of Australia’s most powerful media brands “is something I am very much looking forward to“.

“This is an exciting time for the industry and I can’t wait to play my part in the future successes of the HWT team.”
