Hipages appoints two new marketing team heads

Hipages Group, the creator of solutions that help tradies streamline and grow their businesses, has appointed two new marketing team heads. 

Hipages has named Liz Wise as its head of brand & communications role, as well as choosing Paul Martin for the newly-created position of head of growth. 

With over 20 years’ agency, consulting and client-side experience, Wise has worked with a vast roster including Ford, Land Rover, Nike, Google, Dyson, BlackBerry, Barclays and Herbal Essences in Australia, the UK, Europe and North America. A former creative turned strategist, she returned to Australia in 2015 and joined WE Collective on the category-redefining repositioning and relaunch of Western Sydney University.  

Wise has consulted directly on similar projects for Jurlique, AFTRS and NIDA, in addition to providing c-suite and board-level advisory alongside process optimisation for marketing and PR. 

“We have appointed Wise in this role due to her depth and breadth of experience as a brand strategist and marketing consultant. In finding our next head of brand and comms, we were looking for someone who would not only help elevate our level of strategic brand thinking but someone who also knows what first-class execution looks like. In Wise, we think we’ve filled that requirement completely,” said Hipages group VP of marketing, Nick Ellery.

Martin has 15-plus years of experience in digital marketing, customer experience, and consumer-led strategies. Originally from the UK, Martin established Epiphany (now Jaywing), the UK’s largest digital agency here in Sydney before heading up PeriscoPe as the general manager. Key brands in his portfolio included LEGO, Culture Kings, Budget Direct, Anytime Fitness, Retail Apparel Group, and Domain. 

“The digital landscape gets more and more difficult to navigate every year, and a lot of our quick wins in this space have already been realised. In order to ensure we continue to innovate and grow in this space, we have appointed Paul as our Head of Acquisition due to his leadership experience, strategic chops, and technical expertise earned across years of senior roles in digital agencies,” added Ellery.

Most commonly known for its online tradie marketplace Hipages, the Hipages Group recently acquired 100% of New Zealand business, Builderscrack, for A$11.8 million in cash and equity.
