Hit 105 welcomes assistant content director and music director

Hit 105 has announced Abi Benaud will return to Brisbane as assistant content director and Jake Powell is the radio station’s new music director.

Benaud was most recently based in Sydney as 2Day FM’s executive producer, and will relocate for the role she starts on 2 October.

“Abi returns to Brisbane with a wealth of experience, most recently as 2Day FM’s executive producer, and earlier this year executive producer of Hit105’s Stav, Abby and Matt. She was also previously senior producer and guest booker for Kyle and Jackie O at Kiis,” Hit 105’s content director Jack Ball said.

“The entire Brisbane team is excited to have Abi return home to Brisbane and take the next step in her career.”

Jake Powell has already relocated from Newcastle, where he was music director for Newcastle and the regional Hit network.

“Jake is a 2019 ACRA nominee for Best Music Director (Newcastle), and has been in radio for eight years,” Ball said.

“He is a great young music director, and is already immersed in the Brisbane music scene.”

In the most recent radio ratings survey, Hit 105 in Brisbane had a 9.4% share of the market, behind Southern Cross Austereo stablemate Triple M 104.5 (10.8%), as well as ARN’s 97.3 FM (12.2%), and Nova 106.9 (12.5%).
