Home And Away takes entertainment while Seven wins network share on Thursday

Seven dominated the linear TV ratings in both news and entertainment on Thursday evening, winning overall in metro network share.

Home And Away was the top-rating entertainment program, bringing in an average of 602,000 metro viewers, with the network also pulling in an overall network share of 33.7%.

The second-best performer in entertainment was Seven’s The Chase Australia with a metro audience of 600,000 followed by a late session of Home And Away with 522,000 metro viewers for Seven.

Nine’s Hot Seat brought in an average of 481,000 metro viewers, followed closely by Ten’s The Project 7pm with a metro audience of 480,000, followed by The Bachelor with 470,000 metro viewers. The Bachelor was the #1 program of the night in the 16-39 advertising demos. 

Seven’s The Front Bar brought in a metro audience of 443,000, followed by ABC’s Sammy J, pulling 361,000 metro viewers.

Seven News was the top-rating news program overall with 1.132 million metro viewers, followed by Seven’s 6:30 News with 1.169 million metro viewers.

Nine News followed closely behind pulling in 1.035 million metro viewers, and the network’s 6:30pm News with an audience of 987,000 across metro markets. Nine News also took #1 position in 18-49, and 25-54 advertising demos.

Nine’s Thursday night NRL pulled in a metro audience of 330,000.

As previously mentioned, Seven won the night in the network share stakes, taking a 33.7% share ahead of Nine’s 24.8%, with Ten on 18.4% and ABC taking 14.9%.

The top-rating primary channel was Seven, with 7Mate the #1 multi-channel with an impressive share of 8.9%.
