Home builder McDonald Jones releases commercial to pull at families’ heart strings

Home builder McDonald Jones has launched a new commercial focusing on a family whose father works remotely and the challenges this presents.

The one-minute commercial shows the life of Shane, a linesman, and his family, depicting the struggles of having a father away from home.

Throughout the commercial McDonald Jones builds a replica room for Shane near his work, much like his son’s room.

As he walks into the portable room and watches an iPad video of his son, his son walks into the room surprising his dad.

Mumbrella understands McDonald Jones’ creative agency of record is Enigma.

The campaign has also included a 30-second ad which is a shorter version of the one-minute commercial.

A two-minute film has also been produced.

The ad concludes with the tag line: “Find yourself at home”.
