Honda asks Australians ‘Are You Type R?’ in adrenaline driven digital campaign

Honda Australia is promoting its Civic Type R by launching a digital campaign featuring V8 Supercar driver Melinda Price and surfer Danny Griffiths.

The online video produced by Leo Burnett, shows sport scientist Shannon Barnes measuring in real time the adrenaline and heart rate of the athletes as they drive the Honda Civic Type R.

Barnes also measured the athletes’ heart rate, respiratory rate, skin temperature, G-forces and cortisol levels during and after the experiment.

Scott McGregor, general manager of customer and communications at Honda Australia, said in a statement: “One post alone that showed the very first customer cars arriving in Australia and coming off the ship reached over 250,000 people organically.

“We have such an engaged and enthusiastic Civic Type R customer base, particularly on Facebook, so it’s the ideal platform to speak directly to them with content created specifically for them.”
