Hot House appoints Leon Bombotas

Digital agency Hot House has appointed Telstra’s Leon Bombotas to head up its analytics division.

The announcment:

Top web development agency HotHouse has appointed one of the country’s top digital analytics experts to head up its expanded analytics division.

Leon Bombotas, who was most recently a Head of Online Analytics and Planning within Telstra, joins HotHouse with 12 years of experience in this increasingly vital sector of the industry behind him.

HotHouse founder, Simon van Wyk, said Bombotas’s appointment reflected the leading role analytics was now playing in advertising and marketing as it relates to social media and the web.

“The future of the Internet and mobile Internet is not going to be about brand advertising,” he said.

“It will be about return on investment and optimization of that return. As the internet gets more complex and we migrate from the single corporate web site to the mobile internet, marketing decisions will necessarily be driven by measurement.

“In an industry where six months experience qualifies you as an expert, we’ve managed to secure someone with over a decade of experience with best practice analytics, across a range of industries, with companies such as eBay and Hutchinson 3, as well as with Telstra.

“We believe analytics and performance management will increasingly be a key indicator of marketing and advertising agency effectiveness and HotHouse has secured the best.”

Bombotas will greatly enhance and expand the current analytics and performance management practice at HotHouse.

“Analytics and performance has been neglected by many marketers and, as a result, most mainstream advertising has been largely unmeasured,” said van Wyk.

“But we’re now witnessing a sea change to more accountability and HotHouse is ready to deliver these services to enlightened marketers.”

HotHouse was identified by Forrester as one of four companies in the leader’s quadrant in a recent review of the Interactive agency business.

Hothouse delivers web development and marketing services to some of Australia’s leading brands.
