House Rules makes the night for Seven as Masterchef chugs along

Seven’s House Rules has captured the honours on a long weekend Sunday night with 956,000 viewers tuning into the home renovation show, but Nine has grabbed the overall share for the evening.

With Seven’s show coming in third place behind both Seven and Nine News (1.205m and 1.137m respectively at 6pm), Ten’s flagship show Masterchef managed an audience of 836,000.

Nine’s countdown show, 20 to One, at 7pm captured the fourth slot in the ratings with 913,000 metropolitan viewers.

Other shows which made it into the top ten on Sunday night included the ABC shows Grand Designs at 7.40pm, (743,000) and Doctor Thorne at 8.30pm (667,000).

Current affairs shows 60 Minutes at 8pm (641,000) and Sunday Night at 8.20pm (545,000) rounded out the top shows.

Overall Nine won the night with a share of 19.9%, ahead of Seven with 19.2%, Ten with 15.7%, the ABC with 12.5% and SBS with 4.2%.
