How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World blows Aquaman off top weekend box office spot

The opening weekend of How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World has knocked DC Comics film Aquaman off the weekend box office throne after one week.

The film, which premiered across 473 screens, stars Cate Blanchett, Kit Harington and Gerard Butler. It is the third in its series, and sees viking Hiccup and his dragon, Toothless, work together to combat the darkest threat their village has ever faced.

On its premiere weekend, it made $6.738m, which was slightly more than Aquaman, which made $6.380m across 558 screens.
