Howatson+Company taps The Works for new managing partner

Independent agency Howatson+Company has added another managing partner to its ranks, with Kristie Thistlethwaite joining from The Works.

Following the departure of chief creative officer, Levi Slavin, the agency has now added Thistlethwaite, who will help lead the Sydney office, reporting into managing director, Renee Hyde.

She is one of two managing partners at Howatson + Company, with Rebecca Robertson leading the Melbourne office. Mumbrella understands both have no financial stake in the agency.

Founder and CEO of the agency, Chris Howatson told Mumbrella: “We’re been very fortunate to attract such senior business management talent, in Kristie and previously, Bec. Kristie perfectly reflects our values, our commitment to our clients and our philosophy of intersectional creativity. I’m really happy she’s here.”

Thistlewaite added: “I’m thrilled to be working with the brilliant and talented team at Howatson+Company. The energy and momentum in the agency right now is like nothing I’ve seen before. Looking forward to partnering with the clients both existing and new.”

The agency told Mumbrella her arrival is “to support a number of new client arrivals”, which will be revealed in the coming month.

Thistlethwaite moved from the UK to Australia in 2017 to join The Works as a group account director, eventually being promoted to managing partner in 2021 prior to going on maternity leave in 2022.

She previously had a short stint in Australia in 2012-13, freelancing at M&C Saatchi and the now-defunct Droga5 Sydney.

Mumbrella has reached out to The Works for comment.
