IAG bolsters marketing team with three new appointments
Insurance Australia Group (IAG) has appointed Mondelez International’s senior planner of global brand strategy, Caroline Hugall, to the role of group brand strategy director.
Along with Hugall, IAG has also hired Zara Curtis as director of content while Sally Kiernan has also joined the insurer as NRMA Insurance’s marketing director.
Before her five year stint at Mondelez International, Hugall was a planning director at Ogilvy & Mather New York for more than two years.
Kiernan was previously the group marketing director at streaming service company Pandora until the business closed its operations in June last year.
Curtis was formerly the general manager of commercial, digital and branded entertainment at FremantleMedia.
Brent Smart, IAG CMO, said in a statement: “We’re thrilled to welcome three talented, driven and capable marketing professionals to the business with Zara, Caroline and Sally.
“The collective experience these three bring to our business is significant and spans a wide range of industries, markets and customer segments.
“We’re excited for what they will bring strategically and culturally to both our marketing function and organisation.”
IAG’s brands include NRMA Insurance, SGIO, SGIC, CGU and Swann Insurance.
In September last year NRMA moved its creative account from M&C Saatchi to The Monkeys.
While in January IAG moved CGU Insurance’s media account to Mindshare.
Well, interesting. Kiernan must have done a great job at Pandora. Lets hope that NRMA Insurance doesn’t have to close its doors.

Does IAG have an equal work place employment policy ?
Imagine the outcry if they employed 3 males into these roles.

Well Sydney2100, it’s a classic case of the CMO offering “jobs for the boys” – in this instance its “jobs for the gals”!
