Icon Agency welcomes Chris Bartlett as content director

Icon Agency has hired ex-News Corp network creative manager Chris Bartlett as its new content director as it continues to evolve its integrated offering.

The announcement:

Icon Agency has appointed Chris Bartlett as content director, as part of the continued evolution of Icon’s integrated offering.

Bartlett has been a journalist with newspapers and newspaper websites around the world since the early 1980s and comes to Icon after five years as News Corp’s network creative manager, where he worked with a team of graphic designers, developers, video producers and SEO specialists producing special content for Australia’s most-read news websites.

Group managing director Joanne Painter was enthusiastic about Bartlett’s addition.

“We’re excited about the wealth of experience Chris adds to our staff and look forward to seeing his work with our content team.” she said.

“We believe his background will bring a welcome perspective and help us continue to improve our offering of integrated, end-to-end services.”

Bartlett was undaunted by his move from journalism and eager to begin his new role.

“Moving into communications marks a big shift for me, but I’m confident my skillset will be an asset and I’m excited by the challenges and opportunities ahead. I’m delighted to team up with a diverse group of talented individuals.”

Bartlett’s appointment follows a range of successes for Icon Agency, including a new partnership with the Department of Home Affairs. Icon’s recent success also led to Abdul Hammoud’s addition as senior account executive.

Bartlett and Hammoud will help shape Icon’s content offering, especially across Icon’s portfolio of government clients.
