IKEA Australia puts creative to pitch

IKEA Australia has begun a review of its creative agency partnership due to “changes in local scope”. CHEP Network is the incumbent.

The brand said in an announcement on Friday that the review comes after changes in its global marketing.

For the new tender, IKEA Australia will undertake a closed pitch process, with selected agencies being contacted directly for expressions of interest.

CHEP Network has held the account since 2019. When contacted by Mumbrella, CHEP did not comment on whether it will defend the account.

Baller Card

One of the agency’s latest works for the Swedish furniture brand was the Baller Card, a meat and plant ball-scented reward card.

Prior to CHEP, IKEA Australia’s creative account was held by The Monkeys (part of Accenture Song) for nine years.

CHEP’s CEO of more than two years, Justin Hind, announced his departure from the agency in February, with Wunderman Thompson’s Lee Leggett appointed as his replacement.
