I’m a Celebrity drops to 820,000 metro viewers on second night

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! dropped to 820,000 metro viewers for its second outing, after the season’s premiere brought 1.031 million metro viewers to Network Ten on Sunday night.

While the show was the most-watched of the evening on Sunday, on Monday night, it pulled in behind Seven and Nine’s 6pm and 6:30pm news programming.

This season’s contestants include Ash Williams (far left), Paulini (fourth from the left) and Grant Denyer (second from the right)

Seven News had 945,000 metro viewers at 6pm, and 891,000 for the 6:30pm slot. Nine News’ rival offerings, meanwhile, secured 942,000 at 6pm and 894,000 at 6:30pm.

But despite I’m a Celebrity’s second night slip, Ten still sat atop the share pile with a 27.4% network share and 18.8% channel share. Pitted against Seven’s Big Bash and Nine’s Gold Coast Cops, I’m a Celebrity also topped the key advertising demographics: 16-39s, 18-49s, and 25-54s.

The Big Bash match between Brisbane and the Sydney Thunder attracted just 359,000 metro viewers to Seven for its first session, 339,000 for the innings break, and 320,000 for the second session.

And Nine’s Gold Coast Cops secured 353,000 metro viewers.

Those prime-time results contributed to Nine and Seven’s 25.1% and 24.8% network shares, respectively.

10 Bold was the best-performing multi-channel again, with a 5.2% share, thanks to NCIS re-runs.
