Adelaide film production company Southern Light Alliance launches

Southern Light Alliance logoA new production company has been set up by producer Timothy White of Southern Light Films and former film publicity and marketing specialist Anna Vincent.

Southern Light Alliance is based at Adelaide Studios.

Vincent said the company will work to develop Australian projects and international co-productions.

She said: “Tim White and I have worked together on several projects and saw a real benefit with setting up a production arm in South Australia.”

Vincent said the studio has already acquired the rights to the novel Mice by British author Gordon Reece, and they will partner with Julie Ryan of Cyan Films to work on the project. The thriller has been published in 17 countries and released in 12 languages. “When Julie Ryan brought Mice to our attention we saw a great story with international appeal and were excited to outbid a European company to secure the rights.”

White will continue producing though his own company, Southern Light Films, which is based in Sydney and currently post-producing Son of a Gun, starring Ewan McGregor.

As well as the project based on Mice, Southern Light Alliance is developing other projects. Tim White brings the Irish co-production Pursuit to the partnership, and Anna Vincent bringing a Jane Austen adaptation.
