Isla Fisher ramps up the Hollywood diva behaviour in latest ads for ING Direct

isla fisher kelly ING directING Direct has brought back brand ambassador Isla Fisher for a new round of ads with the Aussie actress continuing her diva-like behaviour with some real-life customers.

Created by VCCP Sydney the new instalments see real customers of the bank suggested as new brand ambassadors, much to Fisher’s disapproval.

In the first ad Fisher arrives on to set to find a woman named Kelly explaining how she can use “any ATM in Australia for free” to the camera, leading Fisher to ask “is this my stand-in?” before asking for a box to try to get a height advantage over the taller Kelly.

She is then told by the director that Kelly is a real life bank customer and as such it is more likely that customers will be able to relate to Kelly “than they would a Hollywood star, so if you could just stand down”.

According to the release acting experience played some part in customer selection.

John Arnott, executive director of customers for ING, said: “We’ve had a great response to Ms Fisher as our brand ambassador and she has played a major role in both raising brand awareness and driving business growth.

“Last year our campaign focused on our industry-leading customer advocacy, inviting customers to share their stories and experience of banking with ING Direct.  The response was overwhelming, and this year we’ve been able to take it up a level and give our customers a starring role alongside Ms Fisher, who seems to be struggling with sharing the spotlight!”

David Kennedy-Cosgrove, managing partner of VCCP Sydney, added: “The story that unfolds sees Isla get a little too jealous of their brilliant performances, reacting with Hollywood levels of diva-ism. VCCP is incredibly proud to be part of a team that sets an alternative tone in popular culture, showing that banking doesn’t have to be too serious.”

UM is ING’s media agency, with the campaign rolling out on TV and in cinemas.
