Iron Sky a hot ticket in Berlin

Iron Sky is one of the hot tickets at this year’s Berlin Film Festival.

According to Berlin’s Tagesspiegel newspaper, the Finnish/German/Australian production was the second most popular film when the box office opened, beating out Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut and Werner Herzog’s documentary about death row.

The film was second quickest to sell out behind Bollywood film Don 2 – The King is Back, starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Iron Sky was partially filmed in Australia with local co-producers New Holland Pictures.

It’s the sci-fi comedy about the return of the Nazis to earth in 2018 after they fled upon losing World War II.

Also screening at the festival is Jayne Mansfield’s Car starring Frances O’Connor alongside Robert Duvall, John Hurt as well as the film’s director Billy Bob Thornton

Both Iron Sky and Jayne Mansfield’s Car was in The Guardian’s Top Ten films to look out for at the festival.
