Jack Phillips leaves GQ to set up video production studio, Köllectve

Former GQ commercial creative director Jack Phillips has launched his own production house and agency, Köllectve.

Phillips’ venture looks to cater to brands’ increasing demand for video content by acting as both an agency and a production house.

“Video consumption is continually on the rise and the demand for professional video services is high”, Phillips explained. “But brands and publishers often find it hard to find the right video professionals for their small budget projects and lack the time and man power to line manage larger ones. Köllectve was created to help on both fronts. We connect and we also produce.”

Phillips, who has spent over 10 years with media companies including Monocle, Vice, Channel 7 and GQ, added: “We’re all about making content that is created with the overall digital strategy in mind. So, whether it’s a small piece of video content created to drive retailer clicks through Facebook or a cross-platform multi-brand mini-series made in partnership with a publisher, we approach each project appropriately.

“What makes us different, is that we’re journalists first. We know how to tell a great story, work with talent to tease out their personalities and find creatives to execute visually. I have spent years telling stories for publishers, engaging readers and aligning brands with digital experience. Now we’re providing that expertise directly to our clients.”
