Jacko special helps Seven to win for Monday

It may be more than a week since Michael Jackson died, but Australia’s TV viewers still seem to want to hear about him. Last night’s Seven special – Michael Jackson The Last Time – helped the network to a win for the night.

Seven won the evening with a 26% share followed by Ten on 25.3% and Nine on 24%. The ABC was on 16.6% and SBS on 8.1%.

The Jacko special pulled in an audience of nearly 1.2m for Seven. But the top show of the night was Masterchef, on Ten.

Meanwhile, tonight will see Seven as the network to beat in what will be a very competitive evening, with The Zoo featuring the birth of Sydney’s baby elephant and Packed To The Rafters.

Over on Nine, the final episode of Home Made will air ahead of a Michael Jackson all-nighter leading up to the memorial concert which all three of the main commercial networks are showing from around 3am.

And on Ten, Masterchef and Talkin Bout Your Generation are at the heart of tonight’s schedule.

Monday’s top TV shows:

  1. Masterchef – Ten 1.8m
  2. Seven News – Seven 1.7m
  3. Today Tonight – Seven 1.5m
  4. Nine News – Nine 1.3m
  5. A Current Affair – Nine 1.3m
  6. Desperate Housewives – Seven 1.3m
  7. Recruits – Ten 1.2m
  8. Sea Patrol – Nine 1.2m
