Job ads for advertising and media sectors fall

Online job ads for the advertising and media sectors fell during November compared to the previous month, while other sectors enjoyed double digit growth.  

According to the Olivier Job Index’s Australian Market Report, internet ads for advertising and media jobs fell 1.7 per cent in November compared to October, while annually it fell 27.7 per cent.

Healthcare was the only other sector to see a slight monthly fall, down 0.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, job ads for sales, marketing and customer service rose 1.7 per cent month on month, despite falling 31.9 per cent year on year.

IT, legal and human resources, admin and office support were among the sectors that saw double digit increases in ad postings during November.

The Olivier Job Index revealed that overall, the market rose 5.88 per cent in November, reversing October’s fall of 1.67 per cent. The company said the rise confirms that business confidence is strong.
