John Tripodi joins RMIT’s School of Economics, Finance and Marketing
John Tripodi, the co-founder and CEO of Twenty3 Sport + Entertainment has been appointed adjunct professor of RMIT University’s School of Economics, Finance and Marketing. Tripodi has had senior marketing and GM roles at Mars Inc and L’Oreal Group.

The co-founder and chief executive officer of Twenty3 Sport + Entertainment, John Tripodi, has been appointed an Adjunct Professor at RMIT University’s School of Economics, Finance and Marketing.
Adjunct professorship appointments are reserved for individuals of considerable achievement and distinction within their professional field and recognised by peers as industry leaders.
Mr Tripodi has held senior marketing and general management roles at Mars Inc. and the L’Oreal Group before establishing the high-profile sport and entertainment consultancy, Twenty3, in 2009.
His research and views have featured in numerous international publications such as the Journal of Brand Management, the International Journal of Market Research and the International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship.
Professor Francis Farrelly, discipline leader of Marketing at RMIT, said he was delighted to welcome Mr Tripodi to the University.
“This appointment represents a wonderful opportunity for our students to benefit from John’s professional network and business acumen across various areas such as FMCG marketing, advertising and media, as well as sport and entertainment,” Professor Farrelly said.
“At RMIT we pride ourselves on delivering marketing education that is both theoretically rigorous and highly applied.
“We look forward to tapping into John’s insight and opinions on real life business issues, given his unique blend of both senior corporate and agency experience.”
During his three-year appointment, Mr Tripodi will deliver guest lectures, contribute to the School’s research activities, provide practical examples for course content and offer valuable counsel and career advice to students.
RMIT’s undergraduate and postgraduate marketing programs include the Bachelor of Business (Marketing) delivered both in Australia and Singapore, as well as the Master of Marketing and Doctor of Philosophy (Marketing) offered in Melbourne.
High-level research projects undertaken by the Marketing group including current Australian Research Council-funded projects on consumption and obesity, and the development of a brand authenticity scale.
