Joint venture to bring TV brands to life

TV Touring and Chugg Entertainment have partnered to create live shows and events based on television brands.

“The motto of our business is ‘chase the brands that we feel will be a hit in the live environment’, so it’s more about the brand for us. Naturally we are targeting brands that we feel will fit the live space perfectly; these tend to be in the factual genre. What’s important here is that it doesn’t always have to be a big property; niche programs can be absolute winners,” company director Tara King told Encore.

The company has not announced any specific projects, but King believes not all television brands or personalities are suited for an arena show, exhibition or theatre performance.

“But we do believe great talent, great ideas and great performance all add up to awesome audience experiences. The question we get asked all the time is “how can you do that show as a live stage show?” That’s what we love about this new territory. We love the creative challenge of having an open mind to the possibilities; it’s incredibly exciting,” said King.
Chugg Entertainment managing director Michael Chugg added that the public’s passion for live entertainment is growing, and with more TV channels, “the opportunity for the TV brand to connect with people in the live arena makes total sense”.
