Julian Cole lands comms planning head role at BBH New York

Julian ColeTwo years after The Conscience Organisation’s Julian Cole joined BBH New York as strategy director, the Australian has landed a new role as the agency’s head of communications planning.

In his new role, Cole will spearhead BBH New York’s work as the lead creative agency for Sony PlayStation and Johnny Walker.

He will continue to report to BBH US chief creative officer John Patroulis and chief strategy officer Sarah Watson.

Watson said in a press release: “Julian has a unique perspective – he has a background in digital strategy, but spent his first year working directly as a part of the creative teams. He has a very clear vision of the value comms planning can add to clients’ business by plugging greater numerical discipline into the development of creative work.”

During his time at BBH New York, he has helped shape the strategy behind campaigns for Axe, Johnnie Walker, Baileys and World Gold Council.

Cole was formerly head of social ideas and digital strategy at The Conscience Organisation, an agency he joined from the now-defunct The Population, a social media he co-founded, in 2010.
