Junkee Media releases long-form mini series in partnership with Jose Cuervo Tequila

Junkee Media has released “the phodcast”, in partnership with Jose Cuervo Tequila.

Award-winning independent youth publisher Junkee Media is back with its second long-form mini series, the phodcast, in partnership with Jose Cuervo Tequila. The episodes are rolling out now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and Junkee’s highly engaged social-first ecosystem.

The phodcast follows Junkee’s 2024 viral interview with YouTube’s forefathers, Dan and Phil, ahead of the Australian leg of their sold-out Terrible Influence tour. The interview immediately secured a coveted place in Dan and Phil lore and the global fandom conversation.

This four-part mini series examines the 16-year Dan and Phil phenomenon through the lens of Talecia Vescio, Creative Producer at Junkee and a recognisable and trusted member of the community. She brings her expertise as a long-term fan to unpack the deep fandom lore, the experience of growing up with the duo online, and explore where to from here.

Junkee is the go-to hub for youth culture in Australia, with over 35 million views each month on its fan-led commentary spanning film and TV, trending events, music and internet culture. Having introduced a suite of social-first formats in line with its 2024 relaunch, Junkee is actively leading fandom conversations across TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube.

Over 70% of Junkee’s audience are under 30 years old, making the masthead a clear authority in validating its youth audience’s obsessions. This project forms part of the social-first publisher’s continued expansion into new mediums and long-form storytelling.
