King and Queen treat fast food employee like servant in fourth No One Deserves a Serve instalment

A king and queen eating a burger and chips at a fast food store is the centre of the fourth instalment of the SDA Union for Retail’s No One Deserves a Serve campaign.

Created by Campaign Edge the 30 second television ad features a royal couple treating an employee at a fast food restaurant like a servant  to drive home the message that “no one deserves a serve” this Christmas and New Year.

The ad is based on a recent survey which found that 87% of fas food employees have experienced verbal abuse or aggressive behaviour from a customer in the past year.

Gerard Dwyer, national secretary at the SDA, said in a statement: “Our message to the public is that this behaviour has got to stop. Copping abuse is not part of the job and no one deserves a serve.

“We acknowledge that Christmas can be a busy and stressful time for many people, but that does not excuse rude, offensive and disrespectful behaviour towards fast-food and retail staff.”

The campaign will run across every state and territory in Australia via TV, online, radio, Snapchat, buses and shopping centres.
