My Kitchen Rules only show to crack million-mark for Wednesday TV

My Kitchen Rules topped the TV charts last night pulling 1.113m viewers – the only program to break the millions – taking Seven to its third consecutive win of the week.

Melbourne midwives Karen & Ros entered the kitchen last night and moved to the top of the leader board with their three-course dinner, managing to pull 315,000 in Melbourne behind Sydney’s audience of 339,000, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

The reality cooking show was the most-watched program of the night and across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54. The third episode was down on viewers from Tuesday night’s 1.193m and its premiere which managed 1.309m.

The competitive 7.30pm time-slot also featured Nine’s Married at First Sight, which saw 824,000 tune in – down from the previous episode which managed 927,000.

In the same time-slot Ten’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here pulled an average audience of 807,000, finishing in third place for the timeslot.

Airing at 7pm, Seven’s Home and Away managed 744,000 viewers in front of Nine’s A Current Affair which pulled 728,000.

ABC’s special episode of Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery with award-winning actor Sam Neil managed 616,000 at 8pm.

The Weekly – which featured a skit poking fun at Amber Sherlock’s #jacketgate – averaged 586,000, airing at 8.40pm on ABC.

The 6pm news battle saw Seven finish on top with 976,000 ahead of Nine News’ 927,000. The 6.30pm News timeslot also saw Seven take the lead with 901,000 compared to Nine’s 889,000 viewers.

Seven’s television line up took the channel to a 23.2% overall audience share for the evening, beating Nine’s 18.3%, Ten’s 14.7% and ABC’s 13.3%.
