Kmart appoints Michele Teague as general manager of marketing

Michele TeagueKmart has appointed Michele Teague as general manager of marketing to fill the void after Dion Workman departed in September for a role with Masters.

Teague joins the retail chain after a contract six month position as group marketing manager of Fletcher Building. Prior to that role she spent two years as the general manager of marketing for Metcash Food and Grocery.

Kmart general manager of apparel and marketing Andre Rich said: “We know that the talent and passion that each of our team bring to their roles at Kmart is what will make us a success. Having the best talent is what will set us apart and drive our growth, and with this in mind we are so excited to welcome Michele to the Kmart family.

“We have so many exciting things planned for the year ahead and can’t wait for Michele to work with our fantastic teams to create another ground breaking year for Kmart.”

At Metcash, the parent company of IGA and Mitre 10, Teague built a national marketing team to manage the two brands.

Teague joined Kmart this month after relocating to Melbourne.

The brand’s most recent campaign used The Clapping Song to showcase its products, via BWM Melbourne.
