Kontented wins Kennards Hire in Australia and New Zealand

Kennards Hire has appointed creative content developer Kontented to reposition the business with a new brand identity and formally launch the company into the New Zealand market.

The announcement:

Creative content developer KONTENTED has won the business to reposition Kennards Hire with a new brand identity and formally launch the company into the New Zealand market.

The family owned equipment hire business has been an Australian stalwart for over 65 years and known for its approachability and friendly service. It has appointed KONTENTED to manage the transition of the new branding including across-the-board creative and sponsorships together with TVC and digital campaigns.

In late 2012, Kennards acquired McEntee Equipment Hire in New Zealand and the KONTENTED work includes the management of Kennards entry strategy to position the company in the nine existing Auckland branches and one in Wellington.

In the four-way pitch the rapidly rising content strategy company won out over big creative agencies with a punchy and modern take on the Kennards story.

KONTENTED managing director Kate Edwards said that the brand values and core personalities between the two companies were in sync.

“Our team is so excited to be working Kennards Hire at this pivotal time in the company’s history,” she said. “I believe this to be only the beginning of a long and fruitful creative relationship between two straight talking, independent Aussie brands.”

Head of Marketing for Kennards Hire, Matt Hankin said the company was buoyed by the enthusiasm, clarity and fresh creative direction demonstrated by KONTENTED.

“We were lucky to have so many creative ideas throughout the pitch process and we knew straight away that the team at KONTENTED would fit in perfectly from a cultural point of view,” he said. The added value they offered with some very creative ideas made the selection easy”

First round of creative will hit the Australian market in July with New Zealand launch planned for October.
