KWP acquires O’Rourke Public Relations

Adelaide-based creative agency KWP has acquired public relations agency O’Rourke Public Relations.

The deal will see O’Rourke Public Relations’ founder Rebecca O’Rourke become KWP’s director of marketing and communications.

O’Rouke said: “Over 12 years at the helm of O’Rourke PR I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing clients and now it’s time for the next chapter and I couldn’t have asked for a better work family to join than KWP!”

O’Rourke will also lead the agency’s new marketing, communications and social media division.

David O’Loughlin, CEO at KWP, said the acquisition will help KWP expand its offering with a dedicated marketing and communications offering.

“I am confident that this is the start of another fun and exciting chapter for KWP! and working with Rebecca we can continue to reinforce our position as one of Australia’s largest, fully integrated marketing and communications businesses.

“As marketing technologies, the digital media revolution and on-demand access to content are dramatically morphing the way marketers can expose their brands to current and potential customers, we are continuously evolving our strategy.”

O’Rourke added: “I have long been an admirer of KWP! ever since I did work experience there 20 odd years ago, so it’s a pinch myself moment to be joining the team and it will be an absolute privilege to work with the biggest brands in SA and across Australia.

“It will be business as usual as I transition O’Rourke PR clients across to KWP! and they will now have a full-service agency powerhouse behind them, which will give us the opportunity to make a bigger impact and reach a broader audience.”

The acquisition comes four months after KWP won the creative account for Tourism NT.

KWP’s clients include Coopers, Surf Lifesaving Australia, Great Southern Rail and Foodland.
