Latest VPM figures show TV viewing habits remain strong

Since the introduction of the new video player measurement (VPM) in February this year, more than 3.5 billion minutes of broadcast quality TV has been watched across different devices.

A record 175 million minutes of Broadcast TV were watched across connected devices last week. Over 3.5 billion minutes viewed since February. Networks providing brand safe, 100% viewable advertising environments for advertisers.

Home-grown drama continues to prove popular with audiences Last week, Australians watched a record 175 million minutes of broadcast television content on mobiles, laptops, tablets and other connected devices, according to official OzTAM Video Player Measurement (VPM) figures.

Quality Australian-made dramas Offspring, Love Child, Wentworth and Home & Away topped the networks’ most watched shows.

Since the introduction of the new video player measurement in February this year, over 3.5 billion minutes of broadcast quality TV have been watched across a range of different devices.

“Australian viewers want to enjoy their favourite TV shows anytime, anywhere and on their screen of choice,” Think TV CEO, Kim Portrate, said.

“The latest VPM figures demonstrate that in addition to the 85 hours and 12 minutes we spend watching broadcast TV on a TV every month, there is an increasing demand for broadcast quality TV across a range of different screens.

“Broadcasters are meeting consumers demand for TV everywhere head-on with quality, curated content in environments that are safe for both viewers and advertisers,” Ms Portrate said.
