Lego Masters winner announcement watched by 1.03m metro viewers

Nine’s Lego Masters has finished its 2021 run on a high, with an average 1.03 million metro viewers tuning in to watch David and Gus named winners of the third season, taking home $100,000 in the process.

That number reached 1.395 million nationally, with a peak of 1.455 million. The full finale episode leading up to the winner announcement was watched by an average of 932,000 metro audiences.

The Lego Masters winner announcement also topped all three key advertising demos, and was followed by the finale episode in each.

The performance of Lego Masters helped Nine to a nightly win, taking a 29.5% network share on Monday night. That placed it ahead of Seven with 26.5%, Ten with 21.1% and the ABC with 15.9%.

Channel Nine also won the night with a single channel share of 22.8%.

Despite easily being the top rating entertainment program of the night, Lego Masters wasn’t the top rating program overall, with Seven News watched by an average of 1.048 million metro viewers.

Among other entertainment programs, Have You Been Paying Attention? was viewed by an average of 654,000 in metro markets on Ten.

Seven’s Home And Away took in 598,000 metro viewers, while Big Brother had 592,000 metro viewers.

That was followed by ABC’s Australian Story with 576,000 metro viewers, ahead of Ten’s MasterChef on 574,000 metro viewers.

The top-rating multi-channel was 10 Bold, with a 4.5% share.

Those results followed a win for Nine on Sunday night, when the penultimate episode of Lego Masters was viewed by 901,000 in metro cities.

Nine will be hoping those numbers will help the network wrestle back a weekly ratings win, after Seven took last week ending Saturday 15 May with a 30.0% share over Nine’s 27.2%.
