Leo Burnett boosts focus on shopper marketing

Paul Spriggs, Sarah Palmer, Mathieu Dauner and Karen Bowie

Creative agency Leo Burnett Sydney is to boost its focus on shopper marketing in 2012.

The agency has hired Karen Bowie, formerly of Reckitt Benckiser, into a new role of head of shopper marketing.

Bowie was at Reckitt Benckiser in the US for five years in various sales positions and prior to that held account management and sales analytics roles at brands including Gillette, Nestle and Ferrero.

The agency has also made a further two hires which it says have been driven by year-on-year growth.

Paul Spriggs joins as group business director and  Mathieu Dauner joins the team in a strategist position.

Spriggs formerly held roles at Fallon in New York and was regional account director at JWT. In the past he ran his own brand consultancy as well as holding senior roles at Unilever.

With seven years experience, Dauner was previously working in the US at R/GA and Ogilvy New York on brands including Unilever, Nike and DHL.

As well as the new hires, Sarah Palmer returns to her role of head of talent management after maternity leave. Palmer will address the agency’s performance management, career development and training.
