Liberal powerbrokers officially launch Canberra lobbying arm CapitalHill Advisory

Ahead of an expected Coalition victory in September’s federal election senior Liberal Party powerbrokers Michael Photios and Nick Campbell have formally launched their Canberra based lobbying firm CapitalHill Advisory.

The government relations firm started operations in Canberra last week.

Former NSW Liberal Party President Nick Campbell and now chairman of CapitalHill Advisory said the firm would be focused on relations between business and government.

“Based in the heart of Canberra, CapitalHill develops strong relationships with clients and brings a unique approach to the public affairs aren,” said Campbell. “We have a deep understanding of business and government and how they intersect, bringing to the corporate realm a unique approach to strategy and public affairs.”

Campbell is a veteran corporate affairs executive who is a former Howard Government advisor and a long serving head of corporate affairs at Johnson & Johnson. Other senior members of CapitalHill Advisory include Michael Photios NSW Liberal Party Vice President  and Chris Stone, former campaign manager for the NSW Liberal Party.

“CapitalHill is dedicated to improving the public policy process,” said Campbell who also trumpeted the group’s links with its the NSW lobbying firm Premier State.

“Clients have access to a wealth of support through our associated corporate advisory and public affairs consultancy in Sydney, PremierState, as well as other partners throughout Australia and across the globe,” he said.

Premier State has previously drawn criticism for its close ties with the New South Wales. Both senior executives are key powerbrokers in the NSW Liberal Party, with Photios running the left faction and Campbell running the soft right faction which together maintain control of the state party.

NSW State minister Greg Pearce was last week accused of misleading parliament over his attendance at the launch of the lobbying firm.
