The announcement:

Wednesday October 5, 2011 –

The appointment was announced today by Mark Watkin Managing Director of Whybin\TBWA\TEQUILA Melbourne.

Lorenzo Bresciani joins Whybin\TBWA\TEQUILA Melbourne, returning to Australia after six years overseas, most recently at Lowe London as Head of Planning. Previously, Bresciani also worked at Goodby, Silverstein and Partners in San Francisco and before that, as a Planning Director for BMP DDB London.

Paul Mayes is promoted to Executive Planning Director for the agency and will continue to work across the client portfolio. Commenting on Bresciani’s appointment, Mayes said, “We’ve already learned to love working with Lorenzo – not just because he’s really clever and has great insights and imagination – but because he doesn’t show a trace of the impatience, egotism and arrogance that so often accompanies those strengths. He’s such an inspiring collaborator that he helps the rest of us to work brighter, too.”

Bresciani’s client experience includes Volkswagen, Budweiser and NAB and global campaigns for Unilever, Hewlett Packard and Stella Artois. He also worked at George Patterson before moving overseas.

Watkin, Managing Director of Whybin/TBWA\TEQUILA said, “Lorenzo has been working with us for some weeks now and we’re excited to bring him onto the team permanently. He has some fantastic experience both here and overseas and a unique style. We like his refreshing approach, which will only add to our strategic process.”

Bresciani said, “Whybin\TBWA\TEQUILA has tremendous momentum right now. It’s an ideal time to join the agency – it’s a great team and I’m excited at the prospect of being a part of it.”

Bresciani will have responsibility for the planning department and will be leading the global planning for ANZ Bank.

The appointment follows additional recent hires at the Melbourne office, including Damian Royce as Digital Creative Director and Paul Reardon as Executive Creative Director.
