Maile Carnegie adds another piece of puzzle to ANZ’s digital plans

ANZ Bank has expanded its digital marketing capabilities under the guidance of Maile Carnegie with the appointment of fast moving consumer goods specialist Sweta Mehra to run its customer insights and analytics.

Sweta Mehra joins from FMCG giant Procter & Gamble.

Mehra will take on the role general manager, group marketing, customer insights and analytics reporting directly to Carnegie.

Carnegie, who joined ANZ last year after heading Google in Australia, said Mehra would bring a unique skillset to the role.

“Sweta brings a blend of consumer research and analytics with her marketing and brand management expertise and we are pleased she will bring her significant skills, experience and enthusiasm to ANZ,” Carnegie said.

“Sweta will work across ANZ to create and build the ANZ brand to both deliver equity and drive programs that lead to revenue growth. This includes owning and driving the customer segmentation approach, which will be informed by robust analytics and insights.”

Carnegie has signalled the bank’s move to better utilise data and analytics with the recruitment earlier this year of Emma Gray, Woolworths’ former chief loyalty and data officer and group strategy director and presented a digital blueprint for the future to the ANZ board in March.
