Mark Fairhurst leaves SBS for Eye Corp
SBS ad sales director Mark Fairhurst is leaving the broadcaster to join outdoor media group Eye Corp after a three and a half year stint.
He is set to leave the company in November, and his post will be filled temporarily by COO Richard Finlayson, who was previously SBS’s commercial director.
One of Fairhurst’s key contributions during his time at SBS was to bring the advertsing sales function inhouse.
SBS COO Richard Finlayson said: “Mark has made a significant contribution to SBS and has helped deliver consistent revenue growth and outstanding results for key sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup and Tour de France. Under Mark’s leadership the SBS sales team were named sales team of the year in 2010 by B&T magazine. We wish him all the best for the future.”
Another one bites the dust. Is it just me or is all the talent being drained from SBS? … Much like it’s government funding.

who was the other talent?

I wish Mark F all the best – don’t know the bloke but clearly a high flyer and Eye Corp no doubt scored a coup.
In my humble opinion – Adam S is the logical successor, well known, liked and well respected in the business. Whether he applies for the gig or not – if he’s not given the nod, something’s wrong at SBS.
