Martin Cowie returns to the fray with executive recruitment offering
Former Carat Sydney MD Martin Cowie has entered the recruitment industry with the launch of an executive search company as a joint venture with Keeley Pope Media Recruitment.
KPMR Executive will focus on finding high end managers in the media and advertising agency space.
Prior to his stint at Carat, Cowie was commercial manager at OMD and before that was with Mediacom and its predecessor in the UK The Media Business for 15 years. His media career began in TV sales.
A potential gap has opened up in the media side of executive search in Australia with the departure of James Greet from The Ladder to run Mindshare.
Among the agencies doing battle at the potentially lucrative top end of ad agency recruitment are Hourigan International, Esther Clerehan and FBI Recruitment.
Cowie said: “My decision to partner with KPMR is based on the exceptional service I received from them when hiring media professionals at the Sydney agencies I worked at. The timing of the launch is very apt as the industry is suffering from a shortage of quality executive level talent”.
Pope added: “KPMR Executive will provide a market leading, bespoke service which will deliver sought after media and communications executives specifically selected to match the vision, culture and ambition of its clients”.

I welcome the competition.
You’re right though Capn Salad – there’s an element of truth in what you say.
Tim….with respect, I’m not sure the departure of James Greet opens up that much extra business at the top end.

Having experienced professionals like Martin and Keeley operating at the top end of the market can only be good for job seekers and employers alike.
