Martin Place – new home of the PR stunt
Sydney’s Martin Place is rapidly becoming the venue of choice for anyone looking to stage a PR stunt.
From zombies, to the radio industry to the latest effort to promote travel brand Zuji, it’s the spot for an easy PR win if you’re looking for somewhere slightly more original than Bondi Beach.
This week’s march saw a bunch of models drop their pants for the travel company, campaigning on the somewhat tenuous “No pants, no fee” platform.
The stunt – to promote the company’s no flight booking fee positioning – was the brainchild of Sydney agency The Hallway.
The only thing that could perhaps have improved the event was if the zombies had turned up on the same day as the models.
What’s the link between the no fees and no pants? I’ve watched the video and read the press release but can’t see it. Would love to hear from the agency.

No link whatsoever Marklen apart from a bunch of pervs getting female models to take their kit off, managing to alienate half the target audience #fail

Now only if the zombies dropped their pants…

At least some of the guys involved seemed excited by it all.

It’s the first idea that anyone comes up with in a brainstorm – let’s do a stunt in Martin Place! Oh, and in Fed Square as well I guess. The rest of the country presumably is on tenterhooks at the social media destination of their choice waiting for these promo stunts to make it into the dialogue. Otherwise the campaign reach is hovering around 0.002%

So I’m sitting at home in my underwear late night booking a flight to somewhere. So I use Zuji? Is that it??
Hmm.. and odd one this.

What a terrible campaign idea for what appears to be a decent product.

to what extreme will one use PR….just a question—was this stunt a success?
